Year 2015

For the sixth time Congress of the Sawmill Industry brought together about 200 representatives of the sawmill industry and forestry, timber traders, suppliers of technology and representatives of state administration, local government and trade unions from the Croatian, region and EU.

On this year’s Congress, participants were engaged in a series of technological, innovative, environmental and market themes such as rural development program, price movements of sawn timber in the market, holding an export surplus, the continuation of positive trends in export growth.

Gathering of the countries: Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, as well as the suppliers of technology from Germany and Austria, proves that this is living and growing sector.

The seventh edition of the Congress will be held on 11/09/2016. The traditional gathering place will be in Slavonski Brod.

GOALS:

• Analysis of market opportunities for sawmills in the countries of Southeast Europe and the Region
• Introduction of the European and world trends in commercial aspects of primary wood processing
• Overview of the technical and technological aspects of the machinery used in the sawmill industry
• Exchange of experience and making contacts with colleagues from West & Southeast Europe i.e. Region
• Strengthening of relations with representatives from the forestry and institutions in order to create a good business environment

• Analysis of the log prices ex sawmill in countries of the region
• Statistics on the logs exploitation(small, medium and big sawmills)

• New technologies in optimizing process
• Use of lasers in the sawmill industry
